This week marks the debut of our double print feature in the current issue of Weddings Illustrated. What an honor! We first photographed Nicole and Steve’s wedding, and then later in the year Rachel and Chris’ wedding, both at the Naples Botanical Garden. The Garden also happens to be one of our very favorite places to photograph. To see an online version of the spring issue of Weddings Illustrated, have a click here.
Most couples tell us up front that they’re going to be uncomfortable in front of the camera. Or, worse yet, they believe themselves to be “non-photogenic.” Luckily that awkward feeling usually lasts about five minutes, even less. And we love getting that out of the way during engagement sessions! They’re like double dates. We walk around town, chatting, sometimes stopping for a drink.
Want to know something? Karl and I often feel strangely awkward when being photographed. Karl even more so than myself- he would rather be behind the camera! I find that amusing, and I’m glad for it, since it allows us to empathize with the gals and guys that we photograph. Here’s us in action. We usually take turns running the show.
Last week our wedding community gathered at Salon Tease in Naples to welcome Grace Ormonde for a signing of her wedding book, “being in love never goes out of style”. (The term “book” does not do it justice. If you’re a bride who’s unfamiliar with Grace Ormonde Wedding Style, you must pick up a magazine and visit their site here. We’re talking major eye candy.) We had a fabulous time sipping bubbly and nibbling on tasty hors d’oeuvres while chatting with area pros. Thank you to everyone who put their time and effort into this special evening, as well as to those of you who made the drive from afar! Karl and I are truly fortunate to work amongst such wonderful and talented people. Check out a post with more photos on Grace’s blog here.

Today one of our favorite engagement sessions is featured on the blog Glamour & Grace! Danielle and Luke had asked us to do something fun and quirky for their shoot and we found ourselves at the Collier County Fair. Grab some cotton candy and click on over. Thanks so much Glamour & Grace for having us! Don’t forget to check out our blog post from their engagement session here also.
