Kaliopi & Valanti | Sanibel Island Engagement Photographers
Karl and I quite like when we have a photo shoot on Sanibel Island. Sanibel and Captiva are our favorite spots in the area, a place where we spend birthdays and the rare free day. We’re really up for going anywhere when it comes to engagement sessions. All the better if the engaged couple has a personal connection to the spot, such as a first date or proposal site. And then there are the locations that have their own appeal: I’ve been wanting to do engagement photos in a citrus grove for ages. I think I’ll keep mentioning it on the blog until someone takes me up on it.
Kaliopi and Valanti met us near the Sanibel lighthouse, and from there we meandered about, snapping shots along the way. It was a very casual and relaxing setting… while their busy Greek wedding was another story, but fun nonetheless!
UPDATE: Check out Kaliopi & Valanti’s wedding pictures.
Lizzy & Nate Engaged | Naples Engagement Photography
Lizzy kept this shoot rolling with her infectious laughter… that’s all we really need of you engaged couples: a bit of good natured humor and a few kisses will get you lots of nice photos, as you’ll see here! Lizzy and Nate’s wedding at LaPlaya Beach & Golf Resort was equally charming, and we’ll share that shortly.
Ginny & Cameron Engaged | Naples Engagement Photographers
Ginny told us that she met Cameron in the music section at a Target. I can just picture Cameron chatting her up about the cd in her hand. I love the outcome of their engagement photos, taken on 3rd Street and by the Naples Pier. Cameron is always whispering something to make Ginny smile, and her smile is so pretty. Enjoy! Don’t forget to check out their wedding and their foto video.
Jenny & Matt Engaged | Naples Engagement Photographers
As you can see, Jenny and Matt are oh so adorable. We wandered Third Street in Old Naples for their engagement session, and all they had to do for us was be their sweet selves. Notice how they did a little “thanks” photo to use after their wedding. Engagement shoots are also a great time to create a fun save the date. Jenny and Matt’s wedding was just as fun to shoot… they even waded way out into the Gulf for us! We’ll post that soon.
Alli & Alex Engaged | Naples Engagement Photographers
We were so glad to meet Alli and Alex in anticipation of their California country wedding. Accompanied by their ever-so-tiny chihuahua, we wandered 3rd Street in Old Naples, where little corners just beg to be photographed. The clouds threatened us for the whole shoot, but somehow the rain held off until the very end. Alli and Alex go to school together at the University of Florida. More recently we traveled to the San Francisco area for their backyard wedding, so we have more to share still!
Julie & Matt Engaged | Two-Part Session | Naples Engagement Photography
The camera loves Julie and Matt so much that we did a two part engagement session on 3rd Street: firstly in the rain, and secondly in the sunshine. We didn’t plan on a rainy day for our first shoot, but for some reason we were all up for the experience. We wrapped our cameras and flashes in plastic bags and dressed in ponchos and umbrellas. It wasn’t a pleasant rain… the temp was very chilly and at times the rain fell in sideways sheets. Julie and Matt were the best of sports. I think it’s funny that you can’t even tell it’s raining it some shots. It just looks romantic. And as a bonus, there was nobody around, which is very unusual if you know the Naples pier area. Our next shoot with the soon-to-be-wed couple provided a nice contrast to their first images. The setting sun cast a warm glow over Old Naples. We’ll post their wedding photos and their foto video, taken at the Pink Shell Beach Resort & Spa, soon.
Jen & Justin Engaged | 3rd Street Old Naples | Naples Engagement Photographers
We managed to squeeze in an engagement session before it poured this morning. Our location of choice, the 3rd Street area in Old Naples, continues to be one of our favorite spots. Jen and Justin will be married early next month at LaPlaya, and we’re so excited for them!
Naples Engagement Photographer | 3rd Street | Nancy & Austin
We recently caught up with Nancy and Austin on 3rd Street in Old Naples for their engagement session. Before the intense heat got the best of us we managed to take lots of fun photos. This time around we made use of the stairs at the ivy-covered Old Naples Pub. We are really looking forward to their wedding at the Renaissance Vinoy Resort and Golf Club.

Destination Engagement Photography | Rome Italy | Sarah & Niall
It’s been such a short week since returning from my destination wedding in Rome, Italy. Sarah & Niall are an amazing couple who have been together for ten years, five of those engaged. From Ireland, they decided that it was time to make things official by having a destination wedding in Rome. I love destination weddings because it gives me the time to really know everyone. I spent the better part of three days with this family, and I loved every minute. We were also joined by the talented Julie Brewer of Brewer Photography & Videography who assisted me in shooting.
The day before the wedding we spent a few hours strolling the streets for Sarah & Niall’s engagement session. We were able to capture some amazing images and enjoy the sights, all while minding the crazy motorists.
Below you see the view out my hotel window. To the right of my balcony there stood an amazing fountain, and to the left was the Monumento Nazionale a Vittorio Emanuele II
We tried to see the Pope speak on Wednesday, but by the time we arrived all the seats were filled. It still made for an awesome photo-op, and we were able to see and listen to the Pope via large televisions.
What amazes me are the millions of scooters zipping around Rome and the way they weave in and out of traffic. It wouldn’t be fitting to take a picture in Rome without involving one.
My absolute favorite place in Rome has to be the Villa Borghese Gardens. From there you have the most stunning vantage point of the city, and then behind you one of the most idyllic gardens you will ever see.
The Spanish steps, here just after dark, stay packed up until midnight. Great for people-watching.
A quick sneak peak from the wedding- this shot was taken at about 1:30AM on the Spanish Steps. We were all exhausted, but the shots were worth the hike. A fitting closing shot for a wonderful day. I’m working hard to have the wedding day blog post up this week.
