Last month, some of our dearest family and friends met to celebrate my dad’s surprise 60th birthday. The evening came together so beautifully and we are so grateful for the talents that made the party extra special. Set against the backdrop of the asian garden at the Naples Botanical Garden, our guests sipped rum cocktails while listening to the musical genius of Brett Foreman. The hors d’oeuvres and four course meal were nothing if not spectacular… Chef Greg and his crew know what’s up! We ended our evening playing in the fotobooth at the after party. Thank you to our guests for traveling from near and far, to the talented people who made it all happen, and to my dad for giving us a reason to celebrate.

For the record, my dad is not what you would call an Obama supporter. But he is a good sport.

Last week our wedding community gathered at Salon Tease in Naples to welcome Grace Ormonde for a signing of her wedding book, “being in love never goes out of style”. (The term “book” does not do it justice. If you’re a bride who’s unfamiliar with Grace Ormonde Wedding Style, you must pick up a magazine and visit their site here. We’re talking major eye candy.) We had a fabulous time sipping bubbly and nibbling on tasty hors d’oeuvres while chatting with area pros. Thank you to everyone who put their time and effort into this special evening, as well as to those of you who made the drive from afar! Yesterday we were pleased to be a part of the Bridal Social at Hotel Indigo in downtown Fort Myers. The Bridal Social is part of the Lemonade Wedding, a complete wedding giveaway for a deserving couple. (Sometimes when life gives you lemons, you at least get a free wedding!) The show took place in a pretty arcade lit by big skylights. In addition to meeting quite a few cool brides, we had a chance to chat with our local vendor friends, old and new. (Which reminds me, it’s been awhile since I reminded you all of the fabulousness of Salon International. Everyone they touch turns into a model!) Afterwards, Hotel Indigo had the vendors stay for drinks and hors d’oeuvres, which was a treat. To Calleen and Racheal of Studio Six Eleven, thanks for having us! We will have the same setup at the Bridal Blast this coming Sunday in Estero… please come say hi!

We set up the fotobooth at last night’s Fort Myers NAWP (National Association of Wedding Professional) annual membership meeting. The gathering was held at the Gateway Golf & Country Club. We always enjoy taking wacky shots of each other, and apparently everyone else did too!

Today, Karl and I teamed up with the Baby Gap at the Waterside Shops to photograph local children wearing their Gap finest. My face hurt from smiling before the day was even done! With a little studio set-up in the back of the store, we managed to capture 36 families in six hours… over eighty adorable faces. And really, some of those faces break my heart a tiny bit. This past Thursday we were invited to be a part of the Forever Pretty Party at Salon International. The salon is bright and spacious and overlooks the water from the Naples Bay Resort. Drinks in hand, guests were able to chat with a range of beauty experts, receive mini-makeovers, and enjoy massages. We brought the fotobooth for additional entertainment. And Daniel gave us some sweet umbrellas for our prop basket!
