Where do we begin? From the moment we met Kristy and her mom and sis, we knew something good was about to happen. Then we met Ben, and we were smitten. We started our day at Kristy and Ben’s Fort Myers home where the mood seemed light and spirited. Kristy, an emerging wedding and events planner herself, thought of everything down to the last creative detail. After the finishing touches, Kristy made her way downtown to meet Ben for their first sight. We loved the way her veil encircled them and moved around wildly in the wind while they took a few moments to themselves.

Weddings at the Burroughs Home in Fort Myers are so full of charm. The property and the home itself offer so many great spots to snap away to our heart’s content. The flowers, by Signature Florals, were composed of the prettiest hues and blooms. Love the sparkly brooch! I had fun taking a few photos of Kristy on the pink cushy chair. We had Kristy and Ben in the big claw foot tub too, of course! Next up: Kristy and Ben’s ceremony and reception.

Remember this great engagement shoot? Nicole and Steve’s wedding at the Naples Botanical Garden was just as wonderful. Not only did they choose the local Gardens, which are a dream to photograph in, they also incorporated eco-friendly features into their wedding day. I’ll describe more of their handmade and eco details in part two of their blog post. Sir Daniel and Faces by Frohmberg did the wow hair and makeup for the day. Isn’t Nicole gorgeous?

Being kind to the earth is something that Karl and I keep in mind when making decisions in our home life and for Luminaire Foto. So much so that we offer couples like Nicole and Steve as much as 15% off our photography plans! We understand that weddings are expensive events, and by making responsible choices you’re often adding to the cost. It’s our little way of saying thanks for making a thoughtful choice. These weddings are extra beautiful and meaningful events as well as fun for us to photograph!

While we’ve managed to catch up on quite a bit of blogging lately we’re still catching up from last fall. Kristy and Ben have been one of our favorite couples to work with, and we have so many of their photos to post! We met them for an engagement shoot at The Burroughs Home where their wedding was held last October. Kristy and Ben may have been my crush for 2010. More to share soon! And now for part two of Brigette and Nick’s wedding at the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point. Their pretty garden ceremony was located in this neat, hedged-in area, just one of the many interesting parts of the Hyatt. The reception surrounded the fire pit, chandeliers in the trees and candles glowing. How about those sweet photos on the hammock?

One of the highlights of getting to know Brigette and Nick was getting a peek at the love notes they wrote to one another. There’s nothing like a little handwritten romance. Nick’s love for Brigette poured out of every sentence. Letters, emails, and post cards dotted the reception for all to read. Brigette even had their menus printed on post cards of places that were significant to their relationship. The whole affair was all so thoughtful and personal. Fun to photograph too!

Brigette and Nick had a polaroid guestbook. We love this idea, and so did their wedding guests!

Our wedding foto videos capture the action and glory of the wedding day and condense the madness into a neat little two minutes. They’re quite fun to watch and share with friends. See for yourself! To celebrate the wedding of Marquis and Andrew, we kicked off the day at the Felix Andrews Salon at Coconut Point. Marquis made her way down the street to Sephora for her makeup. The bridesmaids were pretty in their green J.Crew dresses. In the afternoon sun Marquis and Andrew were married at the same Bonita Springs beach where, once upon a time, they first met at a party. The skies were windy and sunny and it was just a gorgeous day. The couple help their wedding reception at Spanish Wells Golf and Country Club. Congratulations to the both of you! As promised, we want to show you Jen and Justin’s wedding foto video shot at LaPlaya. The shadows of the clouds moving over the Gulf is a bit mesmerizing. These little movies are so much fun for us to make, and especially fun to watch as they come together. After a wedding, Karl and I flip through the thousands of photos on our screen very quickly, and they way it suddenly animates is magic. At this reception, we had the fotobooth and foto video happening side by side to catch the spelling shots.

Just before the holidays, Nancy and Austin tied the knot in a beautiful garden ceremony at the Renaissance Vinoy Resort and Golf Club in St. Pete’s. Their wedding included some wonderful details, which are always fun to shoot. (Nancy’s lace Vera Wang dress was seriously beautiful.) We wish you the best Nancy and Austin!
